Answers to common questions about the Festival


How are the Festival authors selected?

Some members of Literary Women serve on our Author Committee. The Committee meets throughout the year to share and discuss books and authors being considered for the Festival. Keeping the Festival mission statement in mind, this committee strives to represent a variety of genres in their selection process.

What is the date of the next Festival?

The next Festival of Authors will be on April 5, 2025.

How can I receive an invitation to the Festival of Authors?

You may join our mailing list to receive the Festival information and registration notification via email. Just click on the Join Us tab.

What is the cost of the Festival of Authors?

The cost of the Festival is $120.00 per person, which includes the four presentations in the ballroom, one presentation with a smaller audience and opportunities for authors’ autographs. Morning coffee and rolls, as well as lunch, are included.

Is there reserved seating at the Festival?

Festival day, seating is open and available on a first come first served basis. A limited number of reserved tables are offered during the registration process.

Is the Women’s Literary Festival for women only?

No. Although the authors at the Festival are women only, male attendees are welcome.

Where is the Festival held?

The Festival is held at The Long Beach Convention Center, 110 Pine Avenue.

Is there a charge for parking?

The parking fee is set by the Convention Center and is currently $15.00.

Will lunch be served at the Festival?

Yes, lunch will be served at the Festival as well as coffee and breakfast snacks before the event.

Do you have accommodations for special diets?

There is an option for a vegetarian meal when you register. Unfortunately, at this time we cannot accommodate additional special diet requests.

Will there be opportunities to purchase books?

Yes, our Festival bookseller, Mysterious Galaxy, will have a selection of the authors’ books available for purchase the entire day.
